Loud banging awoke you from your half sleep, instantly rising up to look bleary eyed at the door, which was shaking violently. You instantly slid into one of the darkest corners of the room, huddling your knees up to your chest, hoping that when they came in they wouldn’t be able to see you.

Something in the back of your head to get out of the corner and face them, but you weren’t about to take your chances, especially since you had seen absolutely no sign of Noex the past day or so.

It wasn’t long before the locks broke and the door came flinging open, gruff yelling in some sort of language reaching your ears. You hugged your knees tighter, tempted to shut your eyes and block out everything until it all just went away.

But your eyes were unable to close, and you watched from your hiding spot as Juliette stomped into the room, looking around as her short hair flung around her shoulders, finally stopping in the corner where you were hiding.

You knew that she could see you, her slow, predatory smile proved that much. She stalked closer to you, as slow as a cat stalking its prey. You pressed yourself so hard into the cobbled wall your back started to hurt, still not daring to make a sound. You knew, in the very back of your head it was no use, she was going to get you anyway, but you didn’t care, it was worth a try.

She stopped right in front of you, cloaked in darkness along with you, leaning over to pick you up from your arms. You dangled from her like a ragdoll, surprised when she hauled you up to your feet and threw you into the arms of a rather scary looking guy who looked like he was a Brute from Halo 3.

You stifled a scream, sure that it wouldn’t get you anywhere except a head injury, and tried not to cringe away from his touch. However, it didn’t stop how your facial features twisted and curled in disgust.

Juliette rolled her eyes, “Bring her to Adeline’s chambers.”

The Brute who was holding you nodded his large head and said something in the same odd language you had heard before. You were sure it probably meant, “As you wish,” or something like that.

You were then hauled off down darkly lit hallways and up numerous staircases, not encountering a single window until the fifth staircase. You glanced out quickly, seeing various rainbow colors on top of a black background, stars glittering far off in the distance.

You stumbled, too busy looking outside rather than where you were going, and was pulled back up again (not very nicely) to your feet.

It wasn’t too long after that when you reached a set of darkly stained doors, which were pushed open by two other Brute looking guys, revealing a room that was filled with warm colors, making you almost feel as if you were safe.

You weren’t about to let the whole feeling of danger slip away though; you were still very much in captivity.

You were pushed inside of the room at the threshold, doors slamming behind you, trapped once again in some odd room.

Well, at least this time there was a bed.

You glanced around, startled when you saw a woman sitting alone in a chair, polishing what looked like a wicked dagger. She glanced up at you, her eyes glinting a harsh purple in the light. You stepped back in shock, mouth opening wide.

She smiled then, not the same predatory one that Juliette had given you earlier, but a kind one. She stood silently, her gaze locked on you. You looked down at the floor with discomfort, damn, her gaze was powerful, you thought.

She stood in front of you within seconds, fingers rising up to your chin to pull it up, forcing you to look into her eyes. The purple was gone from them now, leaving an emerald green that was VERY familiar to you.

“Loki?” You asked confused, unsure of what you were really looking at.

She shook her head, her voice thick with an unfamiliar accent, “No, I am not Loki. However I have met him…”

You were somewhat disappointed, “Oh… Then you’re Adeline, right?”

She nodded, a smile splitting her lips once again, “Exactly correct, little one.”

You sighed slowly, “You aren’t going to hurt me, are you?”

“No… I’m only here to prepare you.”

Your eyes widened, and you stepped back from her quickly, “WHAT? Okay, no, no, what do you mean ‘prepare me’? I’m not getting married or anything!”

She shook her head, glancing away from you at an intricate painting on the wall, “I’m afraid you have no choice. Noex, the one who was going to take you, missed the final negotiation, and since he was not there, another bidder took his place.”

“OH HELL NO.”

“It cannot be helped.”

“I don’t care! I’m not going to be taken by some bidder! I-I…”

“I know you may have grown attached to Noex, but that does not matter now.”

“No, you don’t get it, I can’t go with him because I…” You paused for a moment, head spinning for ANY excuse to get out of this, “I’m pregnant.” Why in the world did you have to say THAT? Oh, God, this was starting to get weird.

She stopped looking away from you, her gaze shooting towards you, staring you down with that intense gaze of hers. Oh, yeah, definitely shouldn’t have said that.

“How?”

“Well, you know…”

“I don’t mean that, I know perfectly how well how one gets pregnant, how did you two get enough time together to do such a thing?”

Oh, crap. Noex wasn’t ever supposed to be with you, he told you that himself.

You opened your mouth wide, but no sound came out, you shut it and looked down, “Okay, I lied. But I really, REALLY, don’t want to go with another one of those people…”

She looked you up and down, taking a deep breath before letting it out with a sigh, “I can’t stand to see girls like you get sold to men like them… I would like to help you, I REALLY would, but I’m not even allowed to leave this room.”

A plan started to form in your head, and you spoke as it blossomed slowly in your mind, “I don’t think you have to leave this room to help me, Adeline.”

She looked a little confused, “How so, little one?”

You looked towards the windows, they looked like they were made of glass, and you were sure that they weren’t so hard that nothing could break them, “The windows, I could get out from those, scale the walls and drop down.”

“Those walls are made of solid diamond, dear, and the walls are coated with a thick ‘slime’ of sorts, and around the whole perimeter of this place is an abyss. Not to mention you can’t breathe the air outside.”

Well, that shot the plan to Hell.

You gritted your teeth, “Okay, how long until they come and take me from you?”

“Three hours.”

“Well… Okay. That gives us a little time to work… Do you know the layout of this place?”

“Not past this room, no, I was never allowed to leave this room the second I stepped foot into it.”

Ugh, this was going to take a while, you could tell already.

“What else do you think we can try and pull off?”

She shrugged, “The only thing I can think of is getting you ready, but when you get down there and they leave you for a second take it and run.”

“It’s dangerous.”

“I know, but so were the other two plans you were starting to come up with.”

“True…”

She turned away from you to walk over to the chair she was sitting in, picking up the dagger in her hands and carrying it to you. Upon closer inspection it was glowing with a dark light, a visible aura casting itself from the blade.

“Here, you can take this to help you… But for now, we must prepare you.”

You nodded somberly, feeling completely nervous and Could you even begin to pull this off before they suspected what you were going to do? You hoped that you could at least get three feet before they nailed you down and dragged you into the bidder’s arms.

You could go down kicking and screaming, you didn’t mind that. You just wanted to try.

Those three hours were spent in tedious silence, and you barely had gotten your shoes on before someone came knocking on the door.

Adeline finished tying the dagger into a secure place in your skirt, where it was both hidden and where you could access it easily if you needed to stab somebody with it.

She nodded silently to your before turning to get the door, opening it wide. You weren’t surprised to see the Brutes again, as they seemed to be the norm here.

You hoped that the bidder wasn’t like that; you didn’t suspect that these things were all too friendly.

You glanced at yourself in the mirror once again, sighing at the girl who didn’t even look like you anymore.

Your hair was tried up in intricate knots, leaving several medium sized braids hanging over your shoulder, face lightened just a few shades, eyes lined with a charcoal black color, the outer V of your eye lined with a shimmering silver.  Your lips were painted the most seductive shade of red you had ever seen, making you think of some sort of wannabe pin-up whore.

Your dress looked like something that came from a costume shop. Adeline had shaken her head when she had finished lacing the corset. It was one of the darkest blacks that you had ever seen, darker than night, the bodice lined with silver thread in intricate patterns, some of which looked like symbols to you. The skirt didn’t even reach your knees, stopping about halfway down your thigh; it was made of nearly transparent layers of fabric, about three or four of them to be exact. Your shoes were heeled almost ridiculously, their lacing stopping just over your knee.

You looked like some sort of fairy prostitute to be quite honest. Oh, and let’s not forget the corset, which was see through, the black barely covering your flesh. You turned to face the Brutes, certain you would break an ankle. It made you pay special attention to where you stepped, making your way over to the Brutes so they wouldn’t have to haul you off.

You shrugged, unused to the feel of a strapless dress, the metal of the silver and black bracelets tight around your upper arms. You made sure not the reveal the slit in your skirt that held the dark blade under it, the metal would stand out against the dark cloth like hot pink against black.

Your head was turned down towards you feet, watching every step you took just so you would topple over and break your nose or something.

It was a longer walk, and by the time you got there, your feet were just starting to throb with discomfort. Oh joy, just what you needed.

You kept silent the rest of the way, although you were dying to start groaning at the dull throb in your feet.

But eventually there was a large hallway that you were allowed to sit on a wooden bench that wasn’t as comfortable as you thought it would have been. Even though you knew full well that wooden benches were probably the least comfortable things in the world beside these heels that you were wearing.

As much as you hoped that they would leave you alone, they did no such thing, instead they stood beside you, looking away from you as you sat, breathing silently, rolling your ankles in the air.

In what seemed like no time, they stood you back up and walked you the rest of the way.

Adeline’s words echoed back in your mind, “As soon as they leave you, even for the smallest second, take it and run for your life and don’t stop until you know that you’re safe.”

But, where exactly would be safe? She told you that you couldn’t breathe the air outside, and you were sure that if you escaped there wouldn’t be a crevice in this whole place that you could hide that they wouldn’t search.

But… were you REALLY that important? What if they didn’t care, and they just let you go after they chased you for a while?

You doubted that Juliette would let that happen, but you already knew Juliette had a master to call to, and he probably had multiple girls lined up for another bidder. So, the likelihood of them raising Hell to find you wasn’t all that probable.

Your thoughts almost caused you to stumble, but your righted yourself before you earned yourself a broken ankle.

Then they stopped again, in a larger room, all regal and decorated with dark and somewhat depressing colors.

They stood in the center of the room, their faces sober and emotionless, a man standing in the middle of all of them, his hair as white as snow, falling over his shoulders in slight waves. His face looked strong, his cheekbones sharp and angular like all the rest of his face. He was actually kinda hot, if you forgot the fact that he was here to take you without even bothering to ask your name or know your face first.

You saw dark shadows along the corner of your eyes, but ignored them, keeping your gaze locked on the man in the center of the room, not trusting him enough to look away.

His voice was tinged with the same accent that Adeline had, and he actually spoke English, to your surprise.

“Ah, you must be the beautiful (name), it is such a pleasure to finally see your face for the first time in reality.”

“Yeah. Whatever.” You were blunt, speaking only as much as you had to, this man didn’t deserve a lick of your kindness.

He made a low sound in his throat, his lips forming into a small O, “Well, it seems I got lucky. You aren’t a cowardly little robin like all the rest.”

All the rest?! What kind of sick person was he? Did he have a whole brothel of women at home or something?

“Damn straight, you don’t get anywhere in life just lying down and taking it.”

He chuckled, “Well, little robin, I’ll have to force you to lay down then.”

It took everything you had to not bend over and vomit on his shoes, and even more not to let your face show any sign of disgust. You were as emotionless as everyone else in this room.

At least until you heard a rather familiar voice sound from behind you.
At long last! YAY! Okay, so yes, I'll be closing this story out in a few more chapters, and I'll make sure that I get them out ASAP, I've been way too excited to stop writing this, which is why this chapter turned out in just a couple hours.

I hope that is Noex, because I seriously look awesome and the detail for the outfit I am wearing is just WOW! I would enjoy wearing that, if the dang thing wasn't incredibly see-through. I do hope it is Noex. Adeline, could have been me! It's not like they would know, the brutes, Juliette, nor the bidder would know who is me and who is Adeline! Technically Juliette is no where even here after I was made up. SO THERE! LOLZ! Onward to chapter 31!
